Hypericum olympicum 'Citrinum'

This is a lovely shrubby alpine with small ovate grey/green leaves and pale lemon flowers throughout the summer months. It only grows a few inches tall and can be grown in a rockery or in an alpine trough  – totally different to the St John’s Wort’s normally seen in gardens, which can grow into quite large shrubs! These plants thrive in any moist but well drained soil, in full sun to part shade. The flowers are exquisite, and remind me of the fibre optic lamps we used to have in the 70’s – can’t believe I’ve just said that!
