Artemesia lactiflora ‘Elfenbein

I came across this lovely ‘new’ to me Artemesia lactiflora ‘Elfenbein’at the Dundee Flower Show earlier on this month! Cambo Gardens from the East Neuk of Fife were next to me with their display, and it caught my eye along with a Persicaria and Sanguisorba that I didn’t have! Fortunately for me one of the gardeners there wanted to swap me for my Selinum Wallichianum, which is a lovely late summer flowering umbellifier which they wanted for a new bed they are doing at the moment – trying to get  more interest into the late summer and autumn borders – well worth a visit to their garden I think! This umbellifier prefers a moist well drained soil in full sun and will reach a height of around 5 to 6 feet. It has lovely reddish/purple stems which makes the lacy green foliage stand out really well! I’m hoping that the Artemesia sets seed before our winter arrives as I’m sure many of my customers at markets and flower shows will love to have these as well!
